A Word from Mike…

Have you ever been excited about organizing a big party and then had to cancel the event? If so, then you know how I have been feeling over the past two weekends!  There is some humor along the way, but I am “thirsty” for a weekend of church training, dreaming and planning.

In a time when so many churches are having troubles maintaining membership and budgets, we continue to be a church that is thriving and growing.  Here is a breakdown of the last four years:

2013 – 17 new members
2014 – 14 new members
2015 – 9 new members
2016 – 16 new members

To me this is a clear indication that we have work…important work to do in maintaining our role as a Bible centered, lay led, spirit filled, excited about what God has in store for us type of church!!!

For us to fully be the church God is calling us to be, we need to continue to be INTENTIONAL in how we are operating as a congregation.  We need YOU to be intentional in how you invest in what we are doing at FCC-MWC.  That is why we have the Lay Leadership Training meeting.  The training allows us to think ahead and dream dreams about the goals our ministry groups (departments) can strive to achieve.  Therefore, I hope you will make a priority in attending our training on Friday, January 20 at 7 PM and meet Saturday, January 21 at 9 AM.  Breakfast foods will be available on Saturday, thanks to Mark Reid and CMF.

Thanks for sharing the journey!

Staff Request for phone calls and text messages:

Our ministers keep their phones on hoping we will wake and can respond in case of a church emergency.  PLEASE reach out to us if there is a special need where we can be helpful.  Otherwise, please keep calls/text messages between 9 AM and 10 PM.
