Week of Compassion

Special Offering
Sunday, February 18

Week of Compassion is the relief, refugee and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. They seek to equip and empower disciples to alleviate the suffering of others through disaster response, humanitarian aid, sustainable
development and the promotion of mission opportunities.

Week of compassion has been busy this past year through the 2017 hurricane season. When
Hurricanes Irma and Maria caused damage across the island of Haiti, Week of Compassion was working to build houses that would stand strong. They have one story about a man named Roger from Haiti on their website that you should be encouraged to read. Roger and his family lost their home during the hurricane season, and Week of Compassion helped rebuild his home with an even stronger foundation. The houses built with Week of Compassion support, became more than houses, more than homes–they became places of refuge in the storms.

Our gifts to Week of Compassion do more than just build houses, they help families create homes, strengthen their communities, and have peace of mind.

Muffins for Mission

Sunday, February 18 at 9:30 am

The Personnel Department would like to begin having another adult in the nursery with the nursery attendant on Sunday mornings. It is a voluntary position and could be a parent or anyone who loves children. For security purposes a background check at the expense of the church would be required. The more eyes and hands watching and caring for the children, the better!

If you are interested please sign up in the church office. You can sign up for a particular Sunday or the entire month. If you have any questions please call Johnnie Gasaway at 405-808-7343.

Our utmost concern is for our children. This is for their happiness, safety and well-being.

We can all agree, FCC is a beautiful church!

To our members, it’s a peaceful refuge to worship and fellowship.

To our visitors, it’s their first impression of us as a church family.

As with any facility, it takes a lot work to keep things up to date and running smoothly to maintain God’s house for his family. If you would be interested in helping, please contact David Brubaker (405) 259-8014, or the church office (405) 769-2717.

Dinners For Eight

A grass roots demand has made the ever popular “Dinners for Eight” viable again! In the dark about this fun event? Let’s get enlightened. Eight folks (not always four “couples”) gather for a meal about once a month. It can be in a home, at a restaurant or a picnic table in a park. The two hosts pick the venue, an agreeable time and date and, perhaps, a fun activity. The key is to mix and match outside your circle of friends and people you know. Sign up in the office. Hope to start in March.
