Prayer Vigil

It is time to reserve your time for the PRAYER VIGIL on our sign up board in the narthex.  Why a prayer vigil?  As found in Matthew 26, Luke 22 and John 13, we reflect upon Maundy Thursday and the hours that follow until mid-day Good Friday. We reflect on the last supper in the upper room, the prayer of Jesus at Gethsemane, the betrayal and arrest, Peter’s denial of Jesus, the legal proceedings against Jesus, the mocking of Jesus and the crucifixion.  The prayer vigil actually is an extension of our Maundy Thursday service.  Several resources will be available to help you get the post out of your prayer time, including the stations of the cross.  Security will be provided.

Thanks for sharing the journey,

Youth Yak

Hello FCC!!!

These next couple of weeks will be super busy, exciting, and holy for our congregation and for our Youth Ministry. As we begin to make our preparations to enter into the gates of Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, 3/20, I want to ensure that everyone is up-to-date with what is taking place with our Youth Ministry.

First, as a reminder, we will NOT have Youth Group this Wednesday evening, 3/16 due to Spring Break.

On Sunday, 3/20, the Youth will be hosting a Baked Potato Lunch immediately following the combined worship service.  This fundraiser will help support our summer mission trip to Denver, CO as well as other summertime activities.  I do hope that you will be able to join us for what promises to be a deliciously fun time.  THANK YOU in advance for your support of our Youth Ministry.

We will meet for Youth Group on Wednesday, 3/23 at 6:00 p.m. THANK YOU to Denise Jenks for agreeing to provide dinner for us that night.

On Friday, 3/25 our youth will be participating in the Second Annual FCC-MWC Good Friday Lock-In.  We will meet at the church at 7:00 p.m. and will lock ourselves in until 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.  As a reminder, all of our CYF and Chi Rho youth are invited to bring up to two friends for this event.  YOUTH, if you are bringing somebody, please let me know by this Sunday 3/20!!

On Saturday, 3/26, the Annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be taking place in and around the JCAC.  This event, which will feature crafts, games, a puppet show, and, of course, an egg hunt, will begin around 10:00 a.m. and will wrap up around lunchtime.  Invite your family, friends, and the kid down the street.  Let’s pack this place!

Once again, THANK YOU for your support, help, and encouragement that you provide to our youth and to our ministry.  Our kids are super lucky to have such a wonderful congregation to call home.

Grace and Peace,

Baked Potato Lunch * March 20th, Palm Sunday

Youth Fundraiser—Donations accepted

This fundraiser will help provide opportunities for our Youth
to attend summer camp and will also help fund
our mission trip to Denver, CO.

Please make plans to join us for good food, great fellowship
and to support our Youth!

On Monday March 14th, a team from FCC MWC partnered with FCC Nicoma Park and visited the Refuge Fellowship. Following a worship service, they were able to serve dinner to approximately 70 people. Thank you to the volunteers who gave of their time to serve others. God bless you!

Prayer Vigil Sign Up In The Narthex

One of the great ways to add to your Easter experience is to join us for our overnight prayer vigil following Maundy Thursday Services.  Each of you will have the chance to reserve an hour to pray.  There are still several spots available on the sign-up board.  If you are more comfortable doing 30 minutes, find a “prayer partner” who will split the hour with you.  There will be two prayer vigils taking place at the same time this year.  For those who do not wish to get out, you are invited to sign up for a time to pray at home.  For those who are interested in a different experience, you are invited to come to the church where SECURITY WILL BE PROVIDED THROUGH THE NIGHT.  The Worship Department will have experiences at the church available such as the Stations of the Cross, scripture readings, CD music to be played, our prayer list, a church directory so all of our members can be prayed for, communion, as well as an outline for prayer journaling.
