A Word from Mike…

A few years back, before my time here in Oklahoma, I was leading a feisty group of adults in Bible study.  We had completed a series and were discussing options.  One of the group, teasing grin clearly evident, loudly exclaimed, “I know, Revelation!”  Communal laughter ensued.  I laughed and answered back, “You said it, I am in!  We will start next week.”  Crickets.  Silence.  Then backtracking so quickly, you would have thought the whole group had come face to face with a personified Satan!!!

Wednesday we will begin a study on Revelation that will last around 4-6 weeks.  While I will not pretend to finally solve all your concerns or questions about the book, I am confident that we will have a meaningful and faith enhancing study.  Revelation is a book of the Bible that is rarely preached or studied. There is a reason for that being the case, but as scripture it is an important investment in our study.  Revelation is in The Bible; therefore, we believe two things:

  1.   It is relevant for us today
  2.   We can understand things about it

If you have not attended our Bible Study before, please feel more than welcome to attend.   You are invited to come and try one night and see if it strikes your interest.  No one is an “expert” on scripture, rather we all work together to gain a better understanding.  If nothing else, our own “feisty group” has an entertaining quality!!

Thanks for sharing the journey – Mike

Hello FCC!!!!

As we turn our attention towards SUMMER (!!!) I hope everyone has been checking their calendars and clearing their schedules in preparation for Summer Camp and the Chi Rho/CYF Mission Trip.  We will be signing up for both during the month of April.  As a reminder, we will be doing Camp Registration THIS SUNDAY (4/17) immediately following Second Service. You can find all dates/locations/prices for Camp in this newsletter.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

In addition, we will be signing up for Mission Trip on Sunday, April 24.  As a reminder, we will be leaving FCC-MWC on June 11 and returning on June 19.

I look forward to seeing all of our Chi Rho and CYF’ers this Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.   THANK YOU to Beverly Rubio for agreeing to provide our meal for the night.

AmazinGRace!  Sunday, April 24th

Children will be running, toddling, and crawling Sunday, April 24
in the 5th Annual AmazinGRace! The race will take place at 1:00 in the JCAC.  Runners are encouraged to wear their AmazinGRace T-shirts to church and pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at 12:30 in the lobby of the JCAC.

The AmazinGrace is an event in which the children of the church and
Children’s Corner ask friends and family to sponsor them in the race. Proceeds go toward improving our outdoor play space and purchasing other activity equipment!

All church members are invited to join the picnic and cheer on the racers! Your support is welcome in the form of applause, prayers and/or donations. You can donate by making your check payable to FCC with “AmazinGRace” in the memo field. Your donation can be placed in the offering or given at the Donation Station during the race!

It’s time once again to do our annual
