A Word from Mike…

Psalm 127.3     5Sons are indeed a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

After a long day of travel, I was anxiously awaiting a good night’s rest. I arrived in my hotel, unpacked and laid down. As I was drifting away suddenly there were loud voices, giggling and a young voice saying, “shhhh.” This was just the
beginning. The hotel was hosting teams of grade school boys and girls playing in a basketball tournament. On this night, it was difficult to imagine anything coming from a womb being a “reward.”

Certainly none of our youth have this type of mischievous nature!! Some of us
may not have been so innocent during our upbringing. Think of all of our families, school teachers, and other adults who helped mold us into who we are today. Maybe we aren’t perfect, but we have the opportunity to live our lives in a way that brings reward to those who have invested in us. We have the opportunity to live our life as a reward to God.

Didn’t our youth do a wonderful job on Youth Sunday? The heritage of that which their families and our congregation have provided brought a great reward on Sunday. We are reaping the benefits of the type of dedication we make each time we do a baby dedication. We have much to be proud of in our youth! We have much to be proud of as a congregation!

Thanks for sharing the journey,

Hello FCC!!!!

On behalf of the Youth of this congregation I want to say THANK YOU for all of the encouragement, love, presence, and support that was felt this past Sunday as we gathered together for worship.

As you are aware, Youth Sunday is a different animal and it takes a whole lot of guts for middle school and high school students to stand up and put themselves on display before God and such a large and diverse group of people.  THANK YOU for giving our kids the courage to find the freedom to share their gifts and passions with you and with the God whom we serve. I am so proud of our Youth and so thankful to be a part of a congregation that places such a high
priority on the social and spiritual development of it’s young people. As I have said many times over, we could not do what we do in ministry if you did not do what you do for us. You are a blessing to me, and to our Youth Ministry.

It is now time to turn our attention to the happenings of this Summer! Vacation Bible School is right around the corner and registration is ongoing.  If you have not yet had the opportunity to register your child, grandchild, niece, nephew, or the neighbor kid down the street, registration forms are available in the Narthex or in the church office.

Grace and Peace

Sunday, May 29th – Memorial Sunday
During the service we will honor our members who have passed away this last year by reading their names during the church service.  If you have a loved one that you’d like mentioned, please contact the church office by noon on Thursday,  May 26th.

Help “Speak the Truth by filling out our first tri-annual congregational survey either by picking up the form in the church office or clicking on “Forms/Tri-annual Congregational Survey” on your MyFCC account. It’s designed to apprise our ministers and church leadership how effectively they are achieving the goals for our church ministry. Your feedback is vital in this effort, will be kept confidential, and shape next year’s ministry goals. After the data is compiled, all surveys will be destroyed. Please contact Cindy Schaefer if you have any questions.
