A Word from Mike…

Romans 6.19    19I am speaking in human terms because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness for sanctification.

By the time many of you read this article, the shootings in Orlando may have so dominated the news that the tragedy has become like white noise. The shock may have dissipated, the pain may have become less acute. However, as we experience life we know that similar tragedies will come into our paths again, tragedies that reach beyond the understanding of our natural limitations.

Horrific things have been done in the name of Christianity and horrible actions have been attributed to God. Unfortunately, like ISIS, some Christian leaders are far too quick to claim credit or to identify tragedy as the punishment of God on “those” people. When I look at the life of Jesus I repeatedly see him reaching out to the condemned and challenging the perceived righteous. For us to truly shift our slavery from impurity towards righteousness, we must learn to love, embrace and have the compassion of Christ. When we become dominated by hate, blame and retaliation our hearts grow cold, evil wins.

Thanks for sharing the journey,

Hello FCC!!!!

Our Youth Mission Team is in Denver this week. Things are going great!
Thank you for your continued prayers throughout this week!

Grace and Peace

In need of volunteers to sign up for the Wednesday Youth meals through the summer. Open dates are June 22nd and each Wednesday during the months of July and August. If you can help, please call the church office or let Aaron know!
We appreciate your support! Thank you!

Camp information and health forms can be found at All health forms must be completed before leaving for camp! Please note: If you are attending Chi Rho Camp at Oakridge (Grades 6-8), there is an additional release form. Let Aaron know ASAP if you do not have yours. There are copies in the office.

Needing volunteers to attend Refuge Fellowship and assist with serving food Monday, June 27. Leaving from FCC MWC on the bus at 5:00 PM. Contact Mitsy Martin Davis if you are interested!

Help “Speak the Truth by filling out our first tri-annual congregational survey either by picking up the form in the church office or clicking on “Forms/Tri-annual Congregational Survey” on your MyFCC account. It’s designed to apprise our ministers and church leadership how effectively they are achieving the goals for our church ministry. Your feedback is vital in this effort, will be kept confidential, and shape next year’s ministry goals. After the data is compiled, all surveys will be destroyed. Please contact Cindy Schaefer if you have any questions.
