We are happy to welcome Dr. Mark Johnson as our new Choral Director. He comes to us with more than 30 years of experience in teaching Music Appreciation, Voice, and has been a Sacred Music Choral Director/Staff Singer in churches continuously since 1978.

Mark is currently an Adjunct Professor of Private Voice and Classroom Topics at the University of Central Oklahoma. He is an accomplished singer, actor, teacher and choral director. He participates in local musicals, plays, and has recorded television commercials in the area.

Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Music (Vocal Performance) from Oral Roberts University. He received his Masters of Music in Voice Performance (Opera) from Oklahoma City University and was awarded his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Voice Performance with a minor in Philosophy from Louisiana State University. In addition to all of his musical accomplishments he has served as a Captain/Volunteer Squadron Commander/Instructor in the Civil Air Patrol of the United States Air Force Auxiliary and a Forward Air Observer/Boat Crew/Skipper for the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Mark and his lovely wife Molly, who also holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree from LSU live in Oklahoma City. They have 2 daughters, one living in NYC and the other in Texas. You can go online to: markandmollyjohnson.com and see their many musical accomplishments.

Please make Mark feel welcome as he assumes his new position effective this week. He is very excited to be a part of our worship experience sharing his musical talents and expertise. The first rehearsal for the choir will be Wednesday, September 5th. He will be participating in worship this coming Sunday, August 26th.

Wednesday Evening, August 22nd, Youth Group will meet. Dinner is at 6 pm and the lesson will start at 6:30.

Sunday Evening, August 26th, we will meet from 5-6:30 in the JCAC for a discussion and fun activity.

CWF September Luncheon

CWF will be hosting a speaker from the organization “Tenaciously Teal”.

Our CWF groups have been supplying this cancer support group with needed items for their patients this past year.  Come hear about this wonderful organization.  Lunch is provided at no charge, but we do ask that you call the church office 769-2717, to let us know you’ll be joining us so that we’ll have a place setting for you.
