A Word From Mike…

Are you sick and tired of stories about the eclipse?

Honestly I have been too, but you never know when God might teach you a lesson. For example: An eye doctor shares a pair of eclipse glasses with Adam “Tiny” Davis. Tiny Shares the glasses with Dustin Parish. Dustin shares the glasses with myself and Terry and Barbara Brewer.

Small little gifts of generosity, but something that started so simple became a “neat” blessing to a larger group based on the growing generosity of others.

When I saw Dustin had the glasses to the Brewers, I had a passing thought of how God works in such ways.  Little acts of generosity that we do can go on to bless others in ways far more than we could ever imagine.  One kind word, one hug, one passage of scripture that you find at just the right time…Blessings that surround us in each day that God continues to take and expand in ways we may never realize.

Summer events have caused several people to be uneasy about the state of our government, regardless of one’s party affiliation.  This summer has me uneasy about the unexpected church expenses and the vision I want for the growth of our church ministries.  Yes, there are worthy worries all around.  On the other hand, maybe we can try each day to share some small and timely blessing with someone.  Maybe we could trust that God is in control.  Maybe we could trust that each person we come in contact with is deserving of a blessing.  Maybe we could trust that God has called us to spread the GOOD News.  Thanks for being a part of the good news in my life.

Thanks for sharing the journey,
Mike
