A Word From Dustin…

Psalm 96: 1-2:

Sing to the LORD a new song; Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, bless His name; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.

Wow! What a great blessing it was to hear from our choir and Hunter this past Sunday for the Cantata! It is such a blessing to have a congregation of people with awesome musical gifts. I truly felt that we were traveling on a Christmas journey during the performance, and it is so wonderful to see a group of people use the gifts that God gave them to honor and glorify His name. Mike let me know that he thinks this was the best cantata performance during his time at the church.

During the performance, I was thinking of what a blessing Hunter and Neil have been to FCC MWC. To see Neil up there playing piano while his wife was belting out some beautiful singing was just a lovely picture. In addition, not only has Hunter continued to guide our church in worship every Sunday and continue to lead our choir, he has brought in some awesome talent to perform at events like this! It truly is a blessing to have those two men leading us in worship every week.

Lastly, it was also so much fun for me to stand up on stage and see the merger of some of our early morning attenders with afternoon members. This is something that only happens on special occasions, but it is just a cool visual to see from a minister’s perspective. Thank you to everyone who came to support the choir, and thank you to the choir, the accompanists (someday I’ll learn how to say that right), Neil, and Hunter for all of the hard work you put in for this wonderful performance.

Thanks for sharing the journey,

FCC Youth

On Wednesday Evening, December 20th, there will be Wednesday night Youth Group with worship music, a lesson called “Loving the Poor”, and the students participate in Communion to end the service. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the lesson will start at 6:30. If possible, please try to arrive on time. We do many activities on Wednesday nights, and I want to make sure that the students get the full experience before the 8:00 p.m. pick up time.

On Sunday Evening, December 24th, we will be meeting at 5 p.m. and we will head over to the Christmas Eve service in the main building.

Youth Christmas Event:
The Youth Group will be meeting at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 22nd for their Christmas event. There will be a gift exchange, and tacky Christmas sweater competition! The event will be ending at midnight, and Dustin can take your child home in the church bus if need be.

Youth Committee:
Hello all, I am interested in building up a team of youth volunteers to help on Wednesday nights, Sunday Mornings and Sunday Evenings. If you are interested in hanging out during Youth Group, leading Sunday school, or leading a home group on Sunday evenings, please do not hesitate to let me know!

If you know anyone who might be interested in joining us,
please give me a call! I would love to reach out to them!

Our “Emergency Food Kits” have been a big success for the last two years because of the love and generosity of the people in our Church Family. Now that winter is approaching, we are asking for your help once again. In order that none of our clients go without food, because we are unable to deliver due to bad weather, we will be preparing “Emergency Food Kits” again this year. These kits will consist of non-perishable food items for two to three meals. We have 53 clients, 13 of those clients are diabetic. Please help us with these kits by donating some of the items below.

We will be collecting food items starting Dec 17 through Dec 31. There will be a collection box in the Narthex marked “Mobile Meals Emergency Food Kits”.

Items needed are: Canned Soups, canned ravioli, canned meats (i.e. tuna, chicken, ham), Cup ‘O’ Noodles, microwaveable macaroni and cheese cups, packaged peanut butter or cheese crackers, fruit cups, pudding cups, individually packaged cookies, Ensure, or any non-perishable food item that can be eaten cold or easily heated. Please remember some of the desserts need to be sugar free for our diabetic clients.

Your donations will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact Dottie Tucker at 610-6959 or 919-4589(cell).
