A Word From Mike…

What a Wonderful Celebration of the ministry of Lyle Fry!!

This past Sunday, we had a wonderful celebration for the many gifts Lyle has shared with our congregation as our custodian.  He will continue to share his gifts as our Sunday Sexton, but his weekly presence will be missed.  As was highlighted on Sunday, Lyle has set a wonderful witness for our congregation in how to show respect for our nation; how to serve God; and what it is to be a quality husband and family man.

One of the wonderful gifts you and I have as participants in a congregation, is to see people like Lyle, who live this type of authentic life.  All of us have strengths and weaknesses, but when we see strengths in others, it helps us to be stronger ourselves.  For example, it is a sincere joy to see the kids at Children’s Corner wave and cry out “Mr. Lyle” when they see him.  Those smiling faces receive positive experiences at church, and Lyle has added to those experiences.

Each one of you has the opportunity to add to the positive experiences of others around you, especially during this Christmas season.  May WE be a part of what makes Christ alive, for everyone around us.

Thanks for sharing the journey,

Mike

To Our Wonderful Steadfast Congregation,

WOW!

Every good and perfect gift is from above.  James 1:17

Thank you for your heartfelt response to our request to change your offertory
giving pattern. In just two months, with 75% of your donation to the General
Operating Fund and 25% to Capital (our mortgage), we are decreasing the
significant shortfall we recently faced to cover salaries, utilities, and ongoing building repairs/replacements.

On behalf of your church staff and the Stewardship Committee, we simply cannot thank you enough for the swift response in answering the call to help get our financial giving back on track. Your change in giving is making a difference not only within, but outside the walls of our church.

Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude!

MOBILE MEALS MINISTRY

Our “Emergency Food Kits” have been a big success for the last two years because of the love and generosity of the people in our Church Family. Now that winter is approaching, we are asking for your help once again. In order that none of our clients go without food, because we are unable to deliver du to bad weather, we will be preparing “Emergency Food Kits” again this year. These kits will consist of non-perishable food items for two to three meals. We have 53 clients, 13 of those clients are diabetic. Please help us with these kits by donating some of the items below.

We will be collecting food items starting Dec 17 through Dec 31. There will be a collection box in the Narthex marked “Mobile Meals Emergency Food Kits”.

Items needed are: Canned Soups, canned ravioli, canned meats (i.e. tuna, chicken, ham), Cup ‘O’ Noodles, microwaveable macaroni and cheese cups, packaged peanut butter or cheese crackers, fruit cups, pudding cups, individually packaged cookies, Ensure, or any non-perishable food item that can be eaten cold or easily heated. Please remember some of the desserts need to be sugar free for our diabetic clients.

Your donations will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact Dottie Tucker at 610-6959 or 919-4589 (cell).
