 A Word From Mike…

Give like a dentist, handing out toothbrushes on Halloween!!

Proverbs 22.6:  Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray.

Have you already bought Christmas gifts for small children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or other children?!?  I want to challenge you to be “that” person, and give them a gift that may not be first on their “Santa list,” but one that can potentially last a lifetime.

This past Sunday, we highlighted the value of “the library of the books of scripture” which makes up the Bible.  As a young person, I remember always thinking that the Bible was a big book of boredom.  Many of you grew up thinking the same, and may think the same way now!

How can we introduce children to the Bible? Whether you look online or at Mardel’s or a different Christian book store, there are various Bibles available for young children.  A favorite of mine is The Rhyme Bible by L.J. Sattgast and Tani Goffe.  This book takes a light hearted approach to introducing children to simple stories of both the Old and New Testaments and has colorful illustrations.  Maybe your family could end each day by reading through a story, or even do so on a Saturday night.  The important thing is to establish an intentional ritual, when those in your family see how much you value the most tangible resource we have, for the foundation of our faith.

 Thanks for sharing the journey,

FCC Youth

A very special “THANK YOU!” to everyone who helped make our Thanksgiving meal a huge success. If you helped with setting up, decorating, cleaning up, trash disposal, preparing food, serving, or registering and taking money, your assistance was appreciated! It takes a unified effort from many dedicated people to make an event like this happen! At last count it
appears that we had somewhere between 220 and 230 come to celebrate and enjoy a delicious meal.

What a blessing to be a part of this congregation!

There will be a holiday SnackFest in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the Children’s Christmas Play.

Everyone is invited!
Please bring a snack to share.
It can be a holiday theme or not.

We even have a couple
Special Guests too! Shhh.

FCC of MWC will participate with MWBCC and other area churches to provide Christmas to 72 families in Eastern Oklahoma County.

This year’s date is 12/9/17 –
ONLY 2 short weeks away!

What can you do now…as you are preparing your children and grandchildren’s rooms to accommodate their new Christmas toys, consider donating gently used toys to our used toy room for CFO.  This room is a place that the children being served by CFO can go and choose an item or 2 to take home and play with. If you have items we could use, bring them to the JCAC or drop them by MWBCC. Make sure they are clearly marked as CFO.

Thank you,
Outreach Department
