A Pastor’s Perspective

We are fortunate to have great youth and youth leaders here at FCC!  Rev. Shauna Becker continues to engage our youth and challenge them to be aware of their need to be connected to our world.  Beverly Rubino is a model of servanthood as she shows care and love to the group each week.  We also have great support from other volunteers, creating a loving, caring, safe space for group participants to explore their faith.

Last Wednesday, the group gathered a little earlier than usual to participate in a service project at the home of one of our neighbors who needed assistance with broken limbs and trees from last October’s ice storm.  Brock Becker, Shauna Becker, Tim Becker, Tom Hill, Bryan Searcy, and Benny Gilbert showed up early in the afternoon to cut the wood into manageable pieces.  Mark and Jamie Benge brought their trailer.  Beverly Rubino was there, as always to help. The youth and adults worked together  to haul the debris away, adding to the brush already placed in piles on Reno from Tom Hill, Mark Reid, and the landscape group’s work felling the sycamore tree in the playground.

BEFORE….

AFTER!

It felt good to see our group work together to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need.  Our youth and adults worked together under the wonderful leadership we are fortunate to have here!  Thanks to Shauna and Bev for all of their efforts to show Christ’s love, and for all of our adult leaders who help accomplish that goal as we put our faith in action!

Peace!
Gary

CHANCEL FLOWERS

With in person worship service resuming, we’ve also resumed the chancel flowers on Sundays. Since we did not meet in person from the end of March to mid August 2020, dates that were selected and paid for in 2020 have been transferred over to the 2021 calendar. There are still many dates available for 2021. The calendar is in the office on the bulletin board. Flowers are $45 per week.
