A Pastor’s Perspective…..

This Sunday’s worship experience will be new to us!  March 15th was our last in-person service here at FCC. Since then, an amazing group of people have been faithfully planning, recording, and editing video and other media to bring us worship each week. We started out using a simple video camera, and then progressed to our new video system.

This Sunday, we will move from recording our services to live-streaming them! Instead of recording in segments and editing, our service will be “live” and streamed to our YouTube channel. This is a big change, but one that our technology will allow us to do. There is a learning curve to this, and we look forward to meeting the challenge head-on.

Our streaming service will begin at 10 am this Sunday! If you can’t be with us then, It will be available to view later, and I hope everyone will join us. You can access our YouTube channel to view this and other previous services, along with special Music Notes videos featuring Mark Johnson, Garry Dowell and others at:

The big question for us all is when will we return to in-person worship? The best answer to that question is; “When we can gather together safely.” As we move forward, we will do so with caution. My goal in all of this is to not have anyone catch Covid-19 here. We are in the process of forming a task group together to make plans for the day we get back together in person. These plans will include proper distancing and other mitigation procedures, following CDC guidelines and the recommendations of respected medical experts.

The electronic sign at the corner of our property reads “We can’t wait to worship in person!  But not yet.” As we seek to worship God and to love our neighbor in the face of a continuing pandemic, we hope to seek a balance between wanting to gather together in our worship space and preventing the spread of the virus to each other. Until that happens, I am thankful for those who continue to make meaningful worship experiences for us!

As we enter into a new method of worshiping together this Sunday, thank you for being in worship with us; thank you for your continued faithful giving; and thank you for your amazing support in this difficult time!

Be safe and healthy!
Gary
