Weekly Newsletter 7.29.2020

Christmas in July began a few years ago to bring awareness to our CFO Ministry.  Although we are not meeting together regularly yet for services, our Outreach team is continuing to work on all the items we had on our calendar for 2020.  COVID-19 has changed the way we do some things but it has not changed the fact that there are many in our communities that have needs than we can help with. CFO is one way that FCC , MBCC and Nicoma Park Christian Church help meet those needs. Plans are underway for our 2020 version of CFO. We have received some monetary gifts, some donations of household goods and some pledges for other items that we need like pet food  and shelf stable milk. Thank you to all of you who understand the meaning of truly giving, we could not do this without all of you.

With heartfelt appreciation,
World Outreach

Wednesday, August 5th the youth group is having a swimming party at Mark and Jamie Benge’s house! 10332 SE 51st St. OKC. We will meet there from 6 to 8 PM. Youth members please wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. Remember your sunscreen!

With Love,
Rev. Shauna Becker

Remember for now, youth group will meet every other Wednesday. Hope to see everyone on August 5th!

From the comfort and safety of your home join us LIVE on YouTube every Sunday morning at 10:00 AM. Following the worship service at 11:30 AM come to the church for Drive-In Communion! Come to the south circle drive to receive the elements and find a parking space. Tune your radio to 93.1 FM to hear the Invitation to the Table, Words of Institution and Benediction. Welcome Sallie Pollack

For the next several Sundays, we welcome Oklahoma-based pianist, Sallie Pollack, as our interim organist/pianist. She is Professor of Collaborative Piano at the University of Central Oklahoma where she also serves as the UCO Piano Division Head and coordinator of the Collaborative Piano Program. A ‘cradle’ Disciple, she was reared in University Christian Church in Ft. Worth, Texas, where her mother has served as organist for more than 40 years. A versatile and engaging performer, Sallie has performed as soloist and collaborator both nationally and internationally. To learn more about Sallie, please visit her website: www.salliepollack.com

To the church family that Paul loved:

Thank you for your many (and continued) prayers and the touching cards we have received. We send our love and appreciation for all of you. Especially to Gary and the church staff that made it possible to have such a beautiful service in the sanctuary.

We love you all.
Jo Pettigrew, Paula and Neil
