Come Walk With Us!

YOUTH NEWS… The kids are settling into the new school year with all of the change that brings, & this cooler weather has us all excited for fall. Hope your fall will be full of pumpkin carving and s’more‘s by the fire!
Sunday, October 25th from 3 – 6 pm, the youth will be having a fall celebration out at the Becker’s. We will carve pumpkins, have a camp fire & of course s’mores!  Dinner will be at 5pm and the pumpkin lighting at 5:45. Each student will need a pumpkin. You’re also welcome to bring carving supplies but we have a lot to share (leave your steak & butcher knives are home)
May God bless you all as the leaves change & winds blow.
Rev. Shauna Becker

And More Random Thoughts…

As a third-generation baseball fan, I’ll get us started with this little gem: Did you know baseball is mentioned in the Bible? Yep: it’s right there in Genesis 1:1 – “…In the Big Inning…”
And if your car shopping this fall, please keep in mind the following Biblical inspirations:
It seems that our original ancestors tooled around in an old Plymouth because the Bible says that God drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden in a Fury.
Psalm 83 indicates that the Almighty owned at least two cars — a Pontiac and a Geo. The passage urges the Lord to “pursue your enemies with your Tempest and terrify them with your Storm.”
Perhaps Moses favored Dodge pickup trucks, because his followers are instructed not to go up a mountain “until the Ram’s horn sounds a long blast.”
Some scholars insist that Jesus drove a Honda but didn’t like to talk about it. As proof, they cite a verse in St. John’s gospel where Christ tells the crowd, “For I did not speak of my own Accord…”
But following the Master’s lead, the Apostles car-pooled in a Honda, for the Bible says, “The Apostles were in one Accord.”
Seriously, though, the purpose of today’s Music Notes is to once again highlight the amazing service and dedication of our weekly group of safely-distanced singers who you hear each week on the LiveStream Service. Our heartfelt thanks to them for their sustained commitment and dedication to the Kingdom of God and the Music Ministry at FCC!
