MOBILE MEALS MINISTRY
FOOD IS A BASIC NEED. Many of the people in our community are unable to care for themselves and feeding them a hot meal is a way that we can minister to them. Our Ministry currently provides 44 people in our community with a hot meal delivered directly to their door and we do this every Monday. Our Mobile Meals program has been providing hot meals to people in our community since 1973.
In December of 2015 we started our Emergency Food Kits. We have continued this tradition every year since. This year we will be collecting non-perishable food items for these kits, starting Sunday, December 29th through Thursday, January 16th. In the winter months our delivery of meals can be affected by the weather. Therefore, these kits provide enough food for each of our recipients to have 3 to 4 small meals. We can provide these Emergency Food Kits every year because of the generosity of our Church Family. Please help us make our kits a success again this year by donating a few items from the list below.
There will be a collection box in the Narthex marked “Mobile Meals Emergency Food Kits”. Your donations will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact Dottie Tucker at 405-919-4589.
Items Needed: Canned goods such as stew, ravioli, tuna, chicken or ham; packages of ramen noodles, boxes of macaroni and cheese; jars of peanut butter and jelly; saltine crackers; fruit cups, pudding cups, individually packaged cookies, granola bars, and Ensure or Boost.
